Privacy Policy

famequizzers uses analytics and stores quiz responses to improve the site. We avoid direct identity when we can. This page explains what we collect, why, and your choices.

Effective date

This Privacy Policy is effective as of 2026-01-05.

If you change what you collect (new vendors, login, email capture, etc.), update this page.

What we collect

famequizzers collects two broad categories of data:

  • Analytics data via Google Analytics (traffic, page views, device/browser info, approximate location, referral sources, and on-site behavior depending on your Analytics configuration).
  • Quiz interaction data that you submit while taking quizzes (for example: selected answers, quiz outcomes/scores, the quiz/page you interacted with, timestamps, and a randomly generated user ID).
Important: the user ID is generated randomly and is intended to be pseudonymous (not your real name). We do not require you to create an account to take quizzes.

Random user IDs (pseudonymous identifiers)

We generate a random identifier (a “user ID”) to connect multiple quiz events together (example: u_8f3a... ). This helps us understand things like completion rates, which quizzes are confusing, and what people actually use.

This ID is not meant to identify you personally. However, any identifier that persists over time can still be considered “personal data” in some jurisdictions because it can single out a browser or device.

How quiz responses are stored

Quiz responses and related metadata (including random IDs and timestamps) are sent to a Google Apps Script endpoint and stored in a Google Workspace environment (typically a Google Sheet or database-like storage you control).

Data fields commonly include: user ID, quiz name/page, selected options, result/outcome, timestamp, and basic technical context. Exact fields depend on your implementation.

What we do not intentionally collect

  • We do not require your real name, email, phone number, or address to take quizzes.
  • We do not ask for sensitive personal information (health, government IDs, etc.).
Don’t type private info into free-text fields (if you add any). If you later add open-ended input, people will overshare. The internet is undefeated.

Why we collect data

  • To measure traffic and site performance (Google Analytics).
  • To improve quiz design (drop-off points, confusing questions, completion time).
  • To understand which topics people actually explore (so we build more of what works).
  • To prevent basic abuse/spam (rate limiting, unusual activity patterns).

Cookies and tracking technologies

Google Analytics may use cookies or similar technologies to measure usage. Depending on your configuration, Analytics may also collect identifiers and signals that help measure repeat visits.

You can control cookies through your browser settings, and you can use browser tools/extensions that limit tracking.

Your choices

  • Block/clear cookies: use your browser settings to clear site data and cookies.
  • Limit tracking: use privacy tools (tracker blockers, “Do Not Track,” etc.).
  • Stop using the site: if you don’t want your quiz interactions stored, don’t submit quiz answers.

If you later implement an opt-out toggle, consent banner, or “delete my data” form, document it here.

Data retention

We keep analytics and quiz interaction data for as long as it is useful for site improvement, security, or reporting, unless a shorter retention period is configured in Google Analytics or in our storage.

Best practice: set a retention window (example: 14–26 months) and stick to it.

Sharing and third parties

We use third-party services to run and measure the site, including:

  • Google Analytics (site usage measurement)
  • Google Apps Script / Google Workspace (collecting and storing quiz events)

We do not sell your personal information.

Affiliate links

Some pages on famequizzers may include affiliate links. If you click one of these links and take an action (such as signing up for a service or making a purchase), the site may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you.

Affiliate relationships do not influence quiz questions, results, outcomes, or recommendations. Quizzes are designed as exploratory thought experiments, not marketing funnels.

In short: affiliate links help support the project, but they do not change how quizzes work or what results you see.

Security

We use reasonable measures to protect stored data, but no internet system is perfect. If you’re looking for a magical guarantee, please consult a wizard.

Children’s privacy

famequizzers is intended for a general audience. If you are a parent/guardian and believe a child has submitted personal information, you can contact the site owner to request removal.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the site evolves. When we do, we will update the “Effective date” at the top.
